On January 24th and 25th , teacher work days, CVYSA held the first Indoor camp at the Hickory Metro Convention Center; “The Metro Center Mayhem 2010 Camp”. The camp was attended by 24 very enthusiastic young players! The Camp began at 8 AM and went until 2:15 PM. It was two long days of soccer for these young players, but they ALL did a fantastic job of playing hard, learning, listening & especially having FUN! One parent commented: “my child got out of bed slow on Monday, but on Tuesday she got right up and was ready to go early.”
Another unique part of the camp was that the players did all the activities and games with a futsal ball. A Futsal ball is a slightly weighted and smaller ball, designed for indoor training.
CVYSA would like to thank our Camp Sponsors, Hickory Orthopedic Center and Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Joyner; the camp instructors Darren Back and Patrick Bridges; the Hickory Metro Convention Center for allowing us to have an indoor soccer camp at their fine facility and ALL the parents for sending their child to the Mayhem Camp!.
