CVYSA Blast joins in a partnership with CUSA Courage of Dayton, Ohio

Date Posted: 11/11/2009

About a month ago I was contacted by Sam Snow, the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) Technical Director. He informed that Brett Thompson, the Executive Director of CUSA was looking to establish a relationship with a Region 3 Club. CUSA is in Region 2, CVYSA is in Region 3. US Youth Soccer has the country divided into 4 Regions. After communicating with Brett and our CVYSA President, Ken Black, both parties came to the agreement that this venture would be beneficial for both clubs.

What does this mean? CVYSA and CUSA will share training and administrative ideas, be linked together on the web, potentially have a coach swap for training and send teams to each other’s tournament. The relationship will create a dynamic of philosophies which are based on each clubs USYSA Regions, the surrounding community and the club leaderships coming together to enhance each club’s status in their surrounding communities and Region.

Success through Development

CUSA is the largest and most comprehensive youth soccer program in the Dayton area. We offer a range of competitive opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. The CUSA Recreational program offers opportunities for players in grades K-12. The Metro Coraggio FC offers competitive teams for players U15-U18. We also organize and host the Mead CUSA Cup (formerly known as the DAYCO Tournament), one of the best youth tournaments in the country.

The Centerville United Soccer Association (CUSA) is a not-for-profit organization that was formed in June 1999 through the merger of the Centerville Soccer League (SAY), Centerville United Galaxies and Soccer Centerville. The new organization offers a variety of programs for players ages 5 through 19 to learn the sport of soccer and play at a level that suits their interest and ability.

I am very excited about the opportunity to work with the CUSA Courage. The Courage has a solid relationship with their members and we have a similar outlook on the development of our children and this will provide the extra support CVYSA needs for new growth and development. I look forward in working together with Mr. Thompson and the CUSA Courage. Once you view CUSA’s site you will see that CVYSA and CUSA have a very close similarity already, our club colors are almost identical!
